ATI TV wonder VE Poor quality ???

I got an ATI TV wonder VE and I find the quality of the tv on my computer is less then on my tv.
Is it normal ?
Does a non-VE edition of the tv wonder would give a better quality picture ?

The main difference is that the VE has mono whereas the non-VE is stereo.
