I got the card installed, and it only works when I change the color depth (16 to 32bit and vise versa) while the TV is playing. Otherwise when I close it and reopen it, I get a garbled screen. I have the latest detonator drivers, and MMC 7.1. Any ideas?

You might want to try MMC 7.5 although you'll have to edit the .inf to get it working with the TV Wonder.

I had the same problem, and I looked at ATI's website and it said that there is no way to fix the problem and you have to change the color depth every time that the tv image looks like that.

Also, try using new video card drivers.

The new 7.2 & 7.5 software do not work with the TV Wonder. :(

dude8604, thanks for the documented issue.

I can't seem to figure out what to edit in order to make it work with the TV Wonder VE. Any ideas?

I found a work-around for the garbled TV screen issue with MMC 7.1. Start the TV tuner from the ATI launch bar (not the individual TV Tuner icon) by double-clicking it. For some reason, single-clicking will give you the same garbled screen. Sounds stupid, but I've tested it on a few machines with TV Wonder VE's + WinXP and it seems to work every time.

Brian48, that fixed it. Wow that sure is an odd workaround isn't it? :)

thank you

FYI, to use MMC 7.5 with the TV Wonder, edit the install.ini file line "DetectHW =0" instead of "=1"

MMC 7.5 works just fine with my ATI TV Wonder Card together with my Radeon 32DDR. I did not have to edit any .ini to get it to work properly.
