CompUSA has it for $69.99 - $20.00 MIR. Link

The rebate expires on 11.30.2004

You can save on shipping cost if you pick it up. That is what I did.

I just bought one & it works like a charm. The remote by itself is $20-30ish.

Good TV tuner card deal, for the money.
However, ATI will soon be releasing an upgraded "Theatre 550 chip" TV tuner card, which will include hardware MPG2 encoding.
The TV Wonder Pro does not.

What I really want is hardware divx encoding. But for a good cheap tuner with a good remote, I think this is a great solution

I have a question. Will this TV tuner assumedly come with a/v inputs to allow one to play video games say a PS2 on one's comp.? Please let me know. I couldn't find the specs. Thanks for any info and thanks for the post.

Yes it does; it has S-Video, Cable, and Composite (the red, white, and yellow connectors) inputs. Overall the quality is pretty good. The problems everyone has come up when you use the ATI Multimedia Center. It's buggy, the sound gets out of sync when you record and many versions won't work with your comp. For instance the latest version that works with Server 2003 is 8.2 and the most recent version is 9.2. The program I am using now is SnapStream Beyond TV. ILinky. I have had no problems with it and it works as a good DVR. The layout of it is also nice for hooking it backup up to your TV and then using it like a real DVR..... with the TV as the monitor.

CRAP!!

Sunday night i was ordering and the price was 49.99 AR and my computer froze for some unknown reason.

I said I'll order tomorrow morning...yeah right...it was gone

I have been using it for 3 days right now. For some reason I can't seem to upgrade it to 9.2 8/. So right now I am looking for a good pvr system. Right now I am trying this program called "Got all Media." The interface is pretty simple but it gets the job done. Any suggestions?

I have one of these and the Image Quality sucks....Please do not buy one. You will be much better off buying the MSI puts out or getting the new one that ATI has.

I have the TV Tuner without the remote. It is excellent but your sound card has to be tight on sound timings +-1%

Also throw away the MMC and pick up WINDVR 3.0 or later

I second it. The card is nothing special, the cheap Leadtek ones are better.. I bought it for the remote (although they sell them by themselves) and the remote sucks too. The volume up and down buttons could not be worse. I have never seen such a badly layed out remote in my life.

I think we're going to see some prices dropping on these cards given that Hauppage is about to release the PVR 150 and PVR 150MCE. These cards will go for around $65 to $80 or so and will have hardware encoding identical to its big brother, the PVR 250, which has retailed for about $125. The Hauppage cards also have some serious 3rd party software support. The new release is slated for early Nov.
