Hi I had a TV Wonder card from a couple years back and decided to try it in my XP box. The problem is it keeps freezing on me whenever I try to load up the TV viewer. I've tried different software for viewing the channels and I've installed the latest drivers that ATI seems to provide.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can get this working?

Thanks

Out of curiousity, when was the last time you tested the card and it worked properly?

I have one of these and I've always had trouble getting the TV tuner to work correctly. On one PC it would always crash. On my current A7V333 WinXP machine, it defaults to the channel scan (multi window) mode and won't select a channel. My solution, since I had a spare VCR, is to run it as RCA video in and use the VCR as a tuner and it works perfectly. It's a work around but it works for me.

Both win2k and xp are fussy about older TV cards. A friend of mine had a lot of trouble trying to get his to work in win2k. He had to mess around with bios settings and other stuff I don't remember. Does ATI have any tips on their website for troubleshooting xp issues?

Man, That card pissed me off so much that I sold it on eBay and got the Leadtek WinFast TV2000XP Deluxe TV Card (with FM too). The ATI TV Wonder drivers for 2000/XP are so flaky and unstable. The biggest problem I had with the TV Wonder was I had to hold down the Shift+Alt keys every time I started the TV program and even then it didn't work all the time (That key combination is for getting a clean picture. If I didn't do it, the picture would be just fuzz).

There are more posts like this in the Video section of the anandtech forms. I believe people either sold/junked their TV Wonder cards or are just living with the problems.

The Leadtek card I have now is awesome! Its much better than that TV Wonder crap. The picture quality is better, the drivers are stable, comes with a remote, and includes FM too.
