ATI TV Wonder PCI - Stereo Channels Have Left Speaker Audio Only

I installed an ATI TV Wonder PCI. I notice that any channel that broadcasts a stereo signal only plays out of my left speaker. Mono stations will play out of both speakers. I know that my audio card and speakers are configured correctly and this problem has something to do with the TV-Wonder. Fortunately, I can configure the properties of each channel. If I change the Audio to mono, the sound will play out of both speakers. The problem is that it does not keep the settings that I choose. Everytime I open up the TV software, I have to reselect Mono sound and this is bad because I record certain shows daily and I only get left audio captured.

Has anyone else figured out why stereo channels only play out of the left speaker? Also, is there anyway to get the ATI software to remember the settings that I choose?

Are you sure you are using the correctly wired cables? I have noticed that it's very hard to find the correct cable for ATI's internal audio plugs. When I had the wrong styled cable attached I only got sound from one side.

ATI's connection was something like GLGR where G=ground, L=Left, and R=right. Most plugs of that type only had 3 wires with a connection of MLGR where M=missing or something like that.

I had to search a long time before I found a plug of that type with 4 wires.

I wish ATI would use the standard MPC style connections -- I don't know why they like to use that funky old styled connectors.

Thanks for the reply storm rider. I am using the internal cables that were supplied with the card. I am going to try using the external connector tonight to see if that fixes the problem. I will post the results here.
