Hey,

I'm about to pick up an ATI TV Wonder later this week and I was wondering if anyone uses this with Windows XP, if so, how does it work? Any issues etc..?

Any input is appreciated, thanks.

Yeah, the drivers are still buggy, but it works (I have the VE model). I have one in my backup. Using MMC 7.1 with a GeForce GTS-V as the primary display adapter. The quality is about the same as it was under Win98, but occasionally, I "lose it" and get a yellow exclamation point on it under Device Manager. A reboot usually corrects the problem.

One little quirk though, TV playback is completely garbled when you directly start it up. The work-around I found was to run the TV from the ATI Launch bar using a double-click instead of a single-click. For some reason, this seems to work every time.

ATI really needs to update this software. It was released before WinXP and is old already.

Everything works fine with the ATI Radeon 8500 & TV Wonder. Using the July 5, 2001 drivers & MMC 7.1 (or MMC 7.5, which came with the 8500DV AIW card). No errors, hangs, or other problem at all. Using it with an NVidia video card can be more problematic.
However, I prefer using "dScaler" (3.10 is latest version) for the tuner software, which allows you to scroll through the TV channels by using the mouse wheel. Picture quality is very good, using either dScaler or the ATI software.

There is an issue with some video cards (I dunno if everyone experiences this, I did). I have a Geforce2mx, athlon, and windows xp, and ati tv wonder pci. WHen you start up the tv program that comes in multimedia center, the picture is scrambled, but when you click record it gets unscrambled. The only way around this i've found is to first start up the tv program, then switch the color depth of your desktop either from 16bpp to 32, or the other way around. Then the picture comes in clear without having to record to watch.

I have an All-In-Wonder Radeon (not exactly a TV Wonder PCI) and it works flawlessly with WinXP. HTH

I have a ATI video LE and a MX400 64 MB on a VIA board (1 gig) --
I have problems -- there is another thread in this section where I explained how to get around the driver problem. Is a hassle, but life is full of hassels. Looks great though and can watch football and work at same time.

I have XP with an ATI Radeon 32MB DDR and both my TV Wonder VE and USB work without a glitch. I will be getting the regular tv wonder next week.

I have the same problem with my ATI TV wonder with XP. Very annoying to have to change resolution of color everytime you want to watch TV on the PC.
