I needed a TV card so that i can record shows and sports games and transfer to my PSP. I bought the TV Wonder Elite because AT gave it a favorable review, but i'm disappointed with the product. First, it's slow. Initializing the TV takes a while, and changing channels takes a whole second, which is much slower than the TV tuner i used to have on a 9800AIW. Second, it's BUGGY! After installing the software (PowerCinema), ATI multimedia center stop working. Installed remote wonder, some buttons just refused to work, including the channel changing buttons. For $150 i expect more for the money. I'm taking this back for an exchange. I am considering a Plextor USB tuner with hardware mpeg4/divX capability for $50 more... any comments or suggestions?

Do a search in GH, a lot of people need TV Tuner advice. I believe a lot of people are targeting the Hauppage PVR-150.

It's a nice card if you're looking for hardware MPEG2 encoding. Cheap, too, especially the PVR150-MCE version (which doesn't include a remote or any software, just to warn you).

That's something all the "MCE" tuner cards have in common. Software is brought by the OS, and the remote is supposed to be a systemwide unit following the MCE specification.

thanks for the inputs. I did some search in tv-card.com forums and it seems a lot of ppl are recommending the PVR-150. but i ended up with a Pelxtor ConnectX-PVR USB for its hardware divX/mpeg4 capability. pretty costly for $200, gonna try it out tonite, hope it's worth it.
