ATI Tv wonder... can't capture video

I am running win98se on a AMD 1gig machine. I installed the 9012 drivers and the MMC 7.1 and the Via 4in1 version 4.37a.
I can not get the video capture to work. It records but when I want to play the file back I get a window
"RManager"... Error: Could not open file ***.mp2

Any ideas on what's causing this?
This feature worked before I reformatted my HD and reinstalled windows.

you need to download an mpg2 codec.

ill look around for it. i found one, but it only works for windows media, not the internal file player (which sucks anyway, i dont use it).

Could the problem be with the Via 4 in 1 drivers. I noticed it changed some graphics settings while it was going through it's auto install?

im really sure you dont have the codec. for some reason ati didnt include it i had the same problem. ill try to go find it.

Codec
You wont be able to play it with the ATI file player, but Media Player will.
