I have an ATI Radeon 7500 I bought from a local ATOT'er. I bought it mainly for intention of using the full 4x AGP bandwidth I have and the crystal clear TV Out that comes from ATI. Well the card does great for me but the TV out does not want to work. I am running Windows XP Pro SP1 and really want to get the TV Out working. I have tried new drivers but they still wont let me enable the TV out. I have it hooked up to the TV through the VCR.

have it hooked up to the TV through the VCR.
Thats probably your problem. You'll probably have to get an RF adaptor at Radio Shack instead of using the VCR if your TV doesn't have the proper connector to plug it straight in from the cards output.

i don't think the output to the tv works unless you're using S-video... I'm not positive if the 7500 as another video out... but just use the S-video directly out to the TV.

The ATI driver's won't allow you to turn on the extra TV output unless it detects that the S-video is connected. I have a radeon 8500 with TV out and it works fine for me as long as the cables are properly plugged in.

How do you have the card connected to the VCR? Are you using the ATI breakout box? When I first hooked up my AIW 128 I had the cable going in to the card and used a S-video to RCA converter to go from the card to the AUX input on the VCR. Worked well for me.

I have a crappy VCR and am connecting the card with the cable I was given by the ATOT'er. It connects to the S-Video out and has a female connnector. Crappy ASCII image:

Card=<<=S-Video Cable------Female RCA connector=<<=RCA cable ------------=>>= Front A/V VCR Inputs.

I just checked my other box with the Radeon 7200 in it and it is set up exactly the same way you have it. When you go to display properties, does it give you the 2 displays to choose from? Does your VCR allow you to choose the Aux. input? This may be silly but, are you putting the VCR on the correct channel for the aux inputs?

I checked my VCR and checked on what channel it was on, it was on AUX 2, the inputs where I connected the Radeon to. It won't let me turn on the TV in the control panel. Maybe I have a dead Tv out?

In display properties, does it say the TV is not connected? If it doesn't say "Not connected" for the TV then it is seeing that it is connected so the next step I took was to assign a hotkey for each display. I use F8 for the TV and F4 for the PC. Once the hotkeys are saved and applied, I just hit the key and the display switches...
