ati tradeup program?

i just got an e-mail from ati saying i can get a big discount on a new vid card if i send them my old(any maker) card AFTER i receive the new card and am satisfied with it. i do need a new card since my old mach64 only uses 2 meg of 32 in win xp. has anybody else got this? and is it a load of s--t.?http://www.ati.com/online/campaigns/tradeup.html lmk, jer

Its not worth it. You have to pay to ship them the card, and pay to have your card shipped to you. Even with the "savings", its still cheaper just to buy the card from newegg.

You might want to check the Hot Deals forum out. There was a thread posted over there about ATI's upgrade program. Apparently, ATI only gives about $50 for "trade-ins." However, with your older card, this might be a great deal.

It's not that great. Shipping is high ($15) plus you have to pay MSRP. So basically, you buy a selected card, and when you send your old one in, they give you $50 for it (sometimes they give $100 during special promotions). But you could find the same cards for less, shipping included at many on-line vendors.
