<< Graphics chip manufacturer ATI Technologies will soon launch its Pentium 4-based integrated chipset A4 in the first quarter of 2002. To avoid direct confrontation with other core logic chipset designers, the Canadian company said that it will first concentrate on the notebook and game markets. >>

All that i've seen, i've observed ramblings about two different chipsets, the A4, and the A3. Xbit has a blurb about the a3 here. Not really sure whats so different between the a3 and a4, there might be none at all.

Integrated north-bridge memory controller with the RV200 UMA graphics core based(same as 7500 core, i think) on 0.15 micron. It is RV200, not RADEON. It means, it supports HydraVision and we think that manufacturers of the motherboards and PCs will not miss the chance to declare multi-monitor support for their cheap integrated products.

Supports SDR and DDR SDRAM via 64-bit bus line. Moreover, A4 supports PC2700 DDR, which results in 2.7 GB/s peak memory bandwidth.

There is no information regarding I/O controller or south-bridge from ATI. We think it is quite logical for them to use controllers from third developers, VIA or ALi, for example.
