ATI Theater 650 is out! But no comcast HDTV support?

So the card finally comes out, but specification only says it supports over the air HDTV broadcasts(requires an antenna). Does that mean comcast HDTV won't work with it? It wouldn't be such a good deal spending $60-$70 extra, and not have HDTV functionality.

No QAM support for Cable HDTV, No Care. So, no...Comcast HDTV will not come in on this card. ATI has failed yet again with HDTV support with me.

Comcast HDTV is pretty tightly controlled right now. I have it on 15 channels, and I get it with a Motorola PCMCIA cable card inserted in the 40-in LCD monitor. Of course, it is an extra pay option with digital cable. I don't see them giving that up real soon. 🙂

The HDTV line up is: PBS-Kids; PBS-You; PBS-Dimensions; ABC; NBC; CBS; Fox; WP; UPN; PBS Local KUAT; Discovery; INHD1; INHD2; TNT; and ESPN. Then for added fees there are: HBO; Cinemax; Showtime; and Starz.

I have no Vivo card. No box. Just the Cable Card by Motorola. And, it is registered/activated by Comcast.

I just got my Sceptre 42 inch 1080P LCD from costco, and it came with a ATSC+QAM tuner. Despite my digital cable box having HBO/Starz/Encore and about 200 other channels, the ATSC/QAM tuner on the TV can only get 7 HD Channels however, and about 42 total channels (mostly garbage). The high def ones from comcast are ABC, NBC, Fox, CBS, PBS, UPN and WB (yeah who knew UPN and WB had high def channels).

The reason Im not getting HD ESPN, HBO, TNT and the INHD channels is that comcast is only required to broadcast the over the air channels unencrypted to their subscribers. All the other channels require a cable box that can handle encrypted QAM signals. At the moment the only way to accomplish this is via a Comcast set top box, or with a comcast cable-card solution inside of a TV.

At the moment, the only way you can capture all the HD and Digital channels from comcast and most cable companies is if you have a VIVO card which can take Component input from your cable box.

Which cards have VIVO that accepts (Yr, Pb, Pr)input? All graphics cards I find only support output to HDTV.
Comcast forces you to have a converter/cable box to view any channels, so I already have the cable box.
