No, don't think so. :( I can't find 64-bit drivers for my ATI TV Wonder VE or USB 2.0 either. You can try the link in here though. I doubt it will work with the Theater 550, probably only the Theater 2xx like my ice-age TV Wonder VE and I think it needs a driver but it's worth a try. Try different sources under the Setup menu. It could be like DScaler where it implements its own driver, but only for Bt8x8-chip cards I think.

Try looking on ATI's web site? The ATI Catalyst 5.9 driver package is available for Windows XP 64-bit and supports the ATI Theater Pro 550. The Catalyst driver suite has supported the (ATI) Rage Theater 550 chip for quite a few generations of 32-bit and the last two or so in 64-bit. Catalyst 5.9 is available in both the "classic" Control Panel and the Catalyst Control Center (Yuck!). Click on the link below:

well i havent bought the card just yet so i cant test anything really. my real concern is i have a nvidia video card and i dunno if installing the catalyst drivers would create a problem with the nvidia drivers. anyone have any experience with this???

Well if no one else does I can go and try it on my XP X64/NVIDIA GeForce 6800 and ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0, but I thought Catalyst was only for video cards? Under AMD64 notes it says does not support VIVO or All in Wonder products...

There are no 64bit theater 550(or any ATI tuner) wdm drivers and the AIW and VIVO cards have to use the shipped WDM drivers for XP64.

I wonder what would happen if I compiled DScaler in 64-bit mode. But I'd have no way to test it because it only supports (marginally at best) the TV Wonder VE on my P4 Northwood (32-bit) machine. I think DScaler directly addresses the hardware so there's no need for drivers. You could say it is its own driver. I don't think it supports Theater 550 though, only older Brooktree chips. I'm afraid to try it because they say it can erase your adapter's EEPROM.

OK, now we know you have an Nvidia card, so the Catalyst driver suite will not work. I was thinking that you might be in the market for domething like and X800 XT All in Wonder (AGP only), which have a built-in TV tuner, VIVO, ect. and uses the Rage Theater 550 chip.

AIW X800XT uses Theater200, not Theater 550. He clearly is asking for 64bit drivers for "ati theater 550 tv tuner" which is TV Wonder Elite and requires Catalyst wdm drivers from ATI, which there are none.

I stand corrected rbV5. Seeing that the X800 XT All-In-Wonder was announced after the launch of the X800 XT PE VIVO (which uses the Rage Theater 550 chip) I think that everyone (including myself) thought that the X800 XT All-In-Wonder was going to have the Rage Theater 550 chip as well.

I wonder whether it was the complexity of integrating the (new) Theater 550 chip (ATI launched the X800 XT All-In-Wonder rather late), the additional cost of the Theater 550 chip (which would have meant a higher launch MSRP), or some other reason(s) why ATI went with the Theater 200. Hopefully the next-gen All-In-Wonder in PCIe will have the Theater 500 chip.

If you are talking about HDTV PC tuners, they are limited to OTA broadcasts and you'll need to live in a broadcast area and use an antenna to recieve the signals. There are some models that also can decode unencrypted QAM, but someone else will have to comment on that aspect.

Dual boot is a solution if you want to run 64bit and 32bit operating systems. As far as a conflict, I've not heard of Nvidia conflicts with Theater 550 cards, but you'll want to check forums like Rage3D and AVSforums before you buy.

I agree, It could be as simple as MMC support for Theater 550 chips, which thus far is unsupported in MMC which untill this point hasn't had a hardware encoder solution other than some DXVA support.

I'm hoping that AVIVO includes support for Theater 550 and hardware encoding for MMC and with it, a new hardware encoding AIW with Theater 550 and hardware H.264 support.
