I emailed them with a problem and they send me a link to their FAQ. Which was absolutely no help at all.

I've got a Saphire Radeon 9600np 256mb. "ATI WDM Theater Video" had a yellow exclamation next to it in device manager (Win XP). I went to saphire's web site and it refers you to ATI's answer wizard (or whatever they call it). At the end you have the option to email ATI tech support. I did and got the link to the FAQ.

In the mean time, I found the email address of the people who are handling Saphire's tech support in the USA (althonmicro.com). I emailed them and they sent me an updated BIOS for the card which fixed the problem.

1. Saphire should not refer people to ATI for tech support.

2. ATI should offer real tech support rather than a retarded auto reply of a link to thier useless FAQ.

The main reason I posted this was to help anyone else with this problem but I had to let off a little steam too. Sorry.
 
🙂 Can't expect ATI to support the non-built by ATI boards ... odd Saphire would direct you towards ATI; mind you I wouldn't expect anymore than for ATI to redirect you to their FAQ; as I'm sure Saphires BIOS is and board layout is different enough they wouldn't be able to properly support any problems with it. ATI shouldn't offer any support for cards not produced by ATI themselves ... leave the tech support open for actual built by ATI owners 🙂

So it should be Saphires support SUX not ATI's 😛
 
Sapphire has a big thing on their site talking about how ATi is the place for support.

I'm thinking the best support is to just take item back and get something else. Time is money etc etc.
