ATI Silencer Question

Card: 9800 Pro 256 by Sapphire 9800 Pro

Looking over the ATI Silencer card page it lists the Silencer 3 as for 800XT's ONLY. ATI Silencer Applications

The problem, I need to buy one of these ASAP and have chosen newegg to fulfill the order ASAP dur to card overheating and giving me VPU errors playing games with a case that is stable at 27 deg cel. Newegg lists the exact same card that the ATI Silencer page lists but says it is compatible with 9800 Pro's. Newegg ATI Silencer 3

Will this silencer at newegg work for my card? I understand that the heatsink listed on the ATI Silencer page displays Revision 2, however they do not display the Revision 1 at all, or any Silencer designed for 9800 Pro's for that matter on this page. In addition to this the revews for the ATI Silencer on Newegg list some people having issues with their cards but not stating what the issues where, why it didn't fit, what card they used, etc - basically anything helpful, which is to be expected.

Please help me select the appropriate ATI Silencer for my card. =)

I just got it last week, it seems to do a good job at keeping the video card cool. Although I have a 9800 pro 128mb, my card looks exactly like yours does. (It's a sapphire)

Well, after I made my post I made the intelligent decision of simply buying the Silencer 3 linked above.. so I guess now my question is, will the one I bought work for my card? Newegg had it billed and packaged within an hour and a half. =O

Well, it looks like there are 3 or 4 pegs on that one compared to the two that your card can use. I'm not sure if it'll work. I think you can still cancel the order as long as it's not shipped.

Now that I look at it, it looks like it might fit, the only peg I'd be worried about is the one right near the fan, I'm not sure if that has a hole on your card.

Feeling a little lazy and am raiding on WOW at the moment on this machine so I snapped a shot with it inside the case. =p It has three pins, will the silencer I bought fit or should I call newegg ASAP and switch the order?

Already bought one tho, just need to make sure it'll fit since I read a few reviews on newegg that said they had troubles with theirs due to AC changing the Silencer 3, check the post right above yours, by visually looking at it I think that the one I purchased will fit - I am basically just asking for verification.
