ATi RMA procedure

I have an R8500 that just died....the image went all corrupt while I was using it and now it's messed up, even in DOS.

What I'm wondering is if ATi will just send me a new 8500 or what? Because they don't make those cards any more right? So what's gonna happen?

Ah. Makes more sense. They'll *probably* try to foist a R9200 or R9000 on you (which is a slight downgrade) -- a 9100 would be better (as it is actually an 8500LE) if you can push them for it. Do NOT accept a 9200SE under any circumstances, as it has nowhere near the performance of an 8500.

man, i sent an 8500 to them once...their customer service was so bad it took literally about 3 months before they got it right, i was not happy

first they sent me a BAD one back
i rma'd it, they sent another bad one
rma: they sent it straight back, called, they claimed someone read something wrong and thought it was fixed
sent THAT back, finally got one that worked, after about 3 months, with no apology or anything, despite me having paid one price for a card that, by the time it worked, was worth significantly less than what i had paid for it at the time
