<< Looks pretty cool... too bad you have to have an ATI card to use it :) >>

Hmm.. I had the impression that an ATi card was not necessary to use it, although it might have quite a few features integrated with Radeon.

It seems these are made in cooperation with the home automation co. X10 as the remote control drivers included in ATI's MMC package have their name on 'em. I don't know if X10 offers a USB version themselves yet but they have had a serial one for ages that they practically give away to promote their other stuff.

I just use my REALmagic H+ remote for everything, although I don't even use the H+ anymore with my new rig, I just kept the remote, which is serial and uses IR, can't beat it at $19 CDN.

I also use it for my TV Wonder, no way would I buy that ATI Remote.. way too much.

When the Sigma remote came out I axed them if it could be used to control other stuff and they said nein. Have they changed their software or do you use other software? Since then I got one of those $5 Packard Bell remotes.

It looks like the same remote that comes with the AIW 7500 and the 8500DV. It is very nice. The one that came with my AIW 7500 works in any room in the house, even the basement, and even works outside. It controls the mouse and you can even turn the PC off with it. Very easy to set up and use and it's also very programable. :)
