24xAA? Okay, now I'm officially interested.

I just hope it's not a hack using TAA - I think ATi need a minimum of 12xMSAA to be competitive with nVidia if they don't have CSAA.

What's the difference with vector and scalar again? I forget.

Here's hoping that they release benchmarks several weeks before the actual release. I, and many others, would want to know if this would be a good time to sell off our 8800s...

I got a buyer lined up for my 2x 8800GTX. Some noob at gamespot forum.

2x 8800GTX for $700.

Now I just buy R600 and never again Crossfire or SLI. Had bad experience with both of them.

Wouldn't it be better to wait for benchmarks?

And to both of you? Why sell before you even know how the card performs?? What if the R600 performs at the same level as the 8800GTX??

Well I guess those questions are directed more towards tuteja1986

If this is true and the XT version is 10-15% faster with AA/AF enabled then i will be truly impressed even with the delay. I still feel bad for anyone geting thge R600 as R650 is less then 5 months away.

Okay Nightmare255 :! my long history of selling product.... I sell my stuff before benchmark because i know this is best time i can sell my GPU at good price. Later if R600 is only just able to beat up a 8800GTX then i just wait 2 months and buy a 8900GTX. So its win and win situation and its good time to sell as no new awesome game are coming out this month that will need a heavy duty 8800GTX. Till then i will be playing my games on my HTCP box : X1650pro , 2GB of ram , X6800 @ 3.5Ghz.

Meh, I'll wait until the next-gen nVidia card (9800?) comes out before making a comparison.

I don't post much in Video, but ROFL at the sig... where have you been?

Selling before benchmarks also means you'll get a better return than afterwards *if* the upcoming card does indeed exceed expectations.

Or not. It's a gamble.

A vector is magnitude and direction, a scalar is just one quantity =p

Well, it would certainly explain why R600 has 100 odd gigs of memory bandwidth available.

If the 2900 has 320 stream processors, I'm officially interested in how many the 2600 has and how it's going to perform. Geez, even if it has 'only' half as many, we're talking about 160 stream processors. Heck, if it's only 1/4, we're still talking about 80 stream processors.

However, I'll wait until I see the cards and the benchmarks before I get too worked up over it.

i'm sure it'll be 320 scalar shaders
making 320 vector shaders woulda been really expensive

so raw specs wise ATI is ahead, lets just hope the drivers don't dissappoint

Whoa whoa whoa...

That's all this "scalar, vector, and unified" shizzles?

This is ridiculous. 320 stream processors!?

Unless there is a serious engineering flaw Nvidia doesn't stand a chance.

Furthermore, anyone thinking you're going to get this card for $499 need to put the doubie down.

What are the chances that this monster is going to compete with the 8800GTX Ultra at the ultra ultra high end and we'll see an XT version with comparable performance to 8800GTX with a price tag of $499??

What about the reported X2900XTX2?? 640 stream shaders on one card?
