ATI Releases 9600 PRO Dual Link DVI Card

ATI has released a relatively cheap dual link DVI card, MSRP $199.

Unfortunately, they are not using any of their latest GPUs but for those that want to run the Apple 30 inch display at least there is a cheap dual link card available. Of course, if you can afford the Apple 30 inch display finding a cheap video card may not be a high priority for you. 🙂

Finally, a cheap dual-link DVI card!

I've had customer's who wanted to buy a 30" cinema screen for their pc, but couldn't afford to purchase a $1300+ Quadro FX video card to use it with.

For people who dont play games, and just want the 30" for photoshop/web making/etc it wouldnt be. When considering the price of other cards that can run the display. Not everyone plays games.

Oh, you mean for corporate workstation use? Ok, I agree to that. Corporations usually have plenty of money to spend on their computers if they rely on them for income.

For the home user:
Gamer or not, I'll stand by my statement. 200 bucks at this point in time is insane for a 9600pro.

I'm pretty sure AGP 6800GT has dual DVI............................................................................. only 80 bucks more and way better if your non mac.

Do more research before you post uneducated opinions like the last 3 posters here. 😕

I'll spell it out for the noobs to understand more clearly:

DUAL DVI is NOT the same as DUAL LINK DVI!

The reason this is a good deal is because the ONLY card that supports dual link dvi is $1300 for the PC.

What about the 7800GTX and GT?
