ATI Rage128 or Hercules Dynamite TNT?

OK, I know these cards are old, but I'm building a system for a friend with spare parts. Which is considered the better card? They both have 16MB.

I would go with the ATI Rage 128, it has about the same performance as a TNT2.

the tnt2 is faster than the rage 128, but the rage 128 chip is adequate. of course there is the rage 128 pro chip... that would be around the speed of the tnt2.

if you want DVD, the rage 128 chip is the better choice. you have to use ATI's proprietory program to watch DVDs if you want the hardware IDCT.

TNT2 is faster.

both have their 64bit varieties which are much cheaper, and slower.

My bad, I was thinking of the Rage Fury Pro.... yeah, Rage 128 is faster than TNT but slower than TNT2 for sure...

the rage128 has much better 32bit speed than the tnt2. its on par with the tnt2 at 32bit. 16bit looks really bad , i dont think they ever fixed that dithering problem.

He's talking about the Hercules Dynamite TNT guys, not the TNT2.
