So I have an IBM A21M notebook with an ATI Rage M1 AGP..... Well of course I went to the ATI site to find out about it and they don't list it... they list the Rage Mobility, and they list the Rage M4.... no M1... so my question is what is this thing... it doesn't seem to have 3D functionality, which is strange to me on an 800... anyway... any help would be appreciated

just enter your serial number or machine number and it should take you to the exact page for any downloads @ IBM.com

no, I have the latest ATI driver from IBM... that's not the problem... I just find it strange that I can't find any documentation on what this thing is supposed to be able to do... I mean they put this GPU in quite a few different notebooks... why hasn't anyone bothered documenting what this thing can do. What I guess I'm saying is that someone must have documented it, but I can't find said documentation. That's why I'm here asking for help... Anyone have any thoughts?

Well it's more than I found, I just need to get some more info. I'm trying to figure out if it shares the RAM of the notebook, or if it has no effect... that is to say if I upgrade the RAM can the GPU do more work. I ran dxdiag and the D3D test showed a 3D image... I ran Halflife in full 3D mode.... but can't figure out how much Memory the GPU is using... how far can I push this thing, and is there a way of assigning the GPU more memory. IBM never answers my questions and ATI takes months to get back to me. If anyone knows the answer it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
