ATI Radion HD 4850 settings

So i'm pretty new to custom settings and changing these settings for performance, so I had a question...Using the settings in the Catalyst control center, what settings should I change to increase performance? Right now, most of them are set to Use application settings, but I noticed a lot of programs/games/whatever I use don't have settings for these. Any advice would be great. If you need to know any more about my computer, let me know what and I'll post it.

Most of the games should have their own settings within the video/advanced menu. What games specifically dont? I almost always use application settings and set to performance so I can customize and maximize fps and quality per game without sacrificing playability.

With that card, assuming you have a good CPU, you could probably just set everything to quality or mid ranged.
