ATI Radeons and AMD Opterons Incompatible?

I finally got my new computer together and WinXP loaded up, but the screen keeps going to black while the computer keeps running.

MSI K8T Master2 Far Motherboard
Opteron 250 x 2 @ 2.4
Corsair TwinX 1024 PC3200 LL (512 x 2) Reg ECC
74GB WD Raptor x 2
550W PCMCIS Server Power Supply
Audigy 2 Platinum ZS
ATI Radeon 9600XT (to be replaced with X800XT Platinum when available)
WinXP Pro

I used the monitor software to make sure the video card was only 49C and the CPU's were 40C at idle. I have Catalyst driver 4.7 and VIA chipset drivers 4.51 Opening the browser, the start menu, or doing anything else could make the screen go blank, although not consistently. I read an article on arstechnica about their God Box that mentioned something about Radeons not working with dual Opterons. I put a GeForce 5900SE in and everything is now fine. But I have an X800XT Platinum on order for this computer and wonder if I have to switch to an nVidia 6800 card. Anyone know about this problem?

You should probably swtich to the 6800 Ultra anyway, but I am not trying to start any kind of war over that. I think if you are concerened about ATi card compatability just go over the the nVidia piece. Both are fast as hell.

Only the 9800pro and the Tyan board I have have problems. I have an X800pro that works great !
