Link.

We have no hesitation in recommending ATI Radeon Express as either a discrete or integrated solution for a top-line Athlon 64 system. The ATI will not disappoint in either stock performance, features, or overclocking capabilities that top the Athlon 64 pack.

I love how it appears that homogenizing chipset and vid card results in slight performance boosts with ATi just as it does with nV, as some of us speculated :) I had to post in the comments section about how they wave off the 2-3% average boost from ATI+ATI and nV+nV as inconsequential and not something you need consider when purchasing, but will push 2-2-2 timing ram like it is a must for enthusiasts despite the same small performance gains over less expensive looser timed ram

ATI's product launch (and it's early success) only makes things better for all of us. More options is always good to me. Though, i must say, choosing an option for a new A64 platform has just gotten a tad bit harder :)

The THEATER?550 PRO combines all the features of a TV tuning PVR card into a single chip complete with high-end THEATER?quality

Link

Thats going to be an awesome feature, especially if they could cram into a SFF.

Maybe a few sold, looks like an awesome platform for MCE. I''ll need to build a couple (at least) of SFF MCE rigs this winter and that would be the ticket.

lol, i know it sounds shady, but the fact of the matter is my house burnt down and so did my baby.

Soo i have a check for 5000 for a computer i built for 1400, and i need to get the ball rollin :D

I know for sure
Processor Athlon fx-55
Motherboard Asus with ati chipset, hopefully it comes out really soon,
memory : corsair xms (unless there is better out there for now, but from what ive heard corsair is the best)
vid and sound card are obvious with a 6800 ultra but i neeed it in pci express and a sound blaster audigy 2zs,

case im gonna pick up that antec p160, i had a sonata previously and although i had no problems i want to try this one out.

burner 12x plextor sata dvd burner, i had one before never used it but might as well get it again and
50x liteon dvd cd burner combo
speakers creative gigaworks s750, ( i had the s700 which were 560 watts and might as well upgrade)

baahhh i hate not being able to make these decisions on my own, but you guys have been great and helped me a lot in the past, since money is no object: are these all the right choices i should make to put together my new and hopfully final system for a while :D

AH come on already, I am strongly considering an ATI board, but would also tolerate an NF4 board. I can't wait for them to arrive, so I can sell off my Opteron 246 and motherboard, which I am currently not using to its full potential.

Why is everyone so excited about the ATI chipset. I've seen reviews all over the place, and everyone is acting like it's gonna be the best board out there. They are touting its "fantastic feature set." What feature set? Aside from the integrated video and PCIe, they offer nothing that hasn't been out for a long time. And for performance, sure, it held its own against nforce4, but big deal. If you want an impressive board, check this out:

http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2273

Now THAT's a feature set. Oh, and look at that FSB range - up to 350MHz!!!!!!!

Yeah, a production model vs 2 reference boards. Fair comparison......

If there was a smiley i could do for rolling my eyes, I would.
