I'm working on a boxed/retail system here (Compaq SR1710NX) that uses the ATI Radeon Xpress 200 chipset (Northbridge=RS482/Southbridge=SB400).

I'm trying to confirm with HP/Compaq if the board supports 48-bit LBA before I install a 250GB IDE HDD in it. I'd like to assume that a system using such a recent chipset would be sporting a BIOS that supports drives >137GB. But, since it's a boxed system, i'd like some confirmation before the drive is installed/sees any data (lack of support for 48-bit LBA is data corruption... boooooo).
Thanks.
