I just got a new computer and well right now i threw in my old radeon 8500 because the x800 xt which i was supposed to get is so backordered that theres no point in waiting anymore!
So next week i can get a radeon x800 pro. Right now my computer is
Shuttle SN95G5
athlon 64 3500
1gb corsair
74 gig raptor
audigy 2 zs

Im so happy with my computer but really pissed about not getting the xt since i really wanna play HL2 at 1600x1200.. i cant stand playing games lower res then that.

I was wondering what frames will i be looking at with a pro? would the xt make a huge difference?

The X800 pro is still a very nice card, and if vivo, can be softmodded to 16 pipes. In HL2, an X800 Pro should let you run 1600X1200 at max details.

dguy6789 - Can you elaborate on the potential to softmod the 16 pipes? I'm a bit confused as I was under the impression that only the VIVO's are capable of that.

Camspoon - I'm runniing an Athlon XP @ 2.2 ghz with the X800Pro and HL2 is smooth as butter at 16x12 even with some AA/AF thrown in for good measure. I'm ecstatic with this card...you'll be happy. The huge bonus is the noise vs the 6800GT (if thta's a concern). It was for me and I got the opportunity to listen to both and that was the deal breaker for me.

I play HL2 on my rig:

A64 3200+
1gig DDR400
ATI x800 Pro
Seagate SATA HD w/8mb

1600x1200 on the LCD, max settings, and it's smooth as buttah.
