ATI Radeon VE Dual LCDs - Can't View Videos!

i have win2k pro and am running dual dell 1701FP LCDs...problem is i can't view any MPEG, AVI, RealVideo, etc. files. just audio. i unplug one of the monitors and put in the analog input and videos work fine. i have directx 8 and win2k service pack 2 installed. anyone else have the same problems? thanks!
 
do you get a strange error message like "can't play video because the pins are not connected?" I used to get that error on a dual head matrox when I tried to play movies.
 
no, it plays the file, maybe the first couple of frames, then it turns black...the audio plays throughout though.
