does anyone know if ATI will be releasing a higher clocked version of the Radeon (say 225/225DDR) in response to the NV20 (to be released feb27 i believe)?
It makes sense since memory is cheap, the core is overclockable (originally spec'ed at 200mhz) and even the retail radeons (183/183) will get killed by the NV20. I would be very interested in buying this card.

Don't expect ATI to release an "Ultra" version of the Radeon. The Radeon II and Radeon II Ultra, along with both VE and Mobile versions, will be ATI's next line of products. Rumor also has it that ATI will release a set of unified drivers along with the launch of the Radeon II.

ATI might be wishing in the next month or so that they would have went ahead and did the Radeon Max. Unless they are planning on releasing the Radeon 2 very soon.

not SYSTEM DDR, but in an interivew with ATi one of the directors said DDR memory is only slightly more expensive than SDR (taghts why they used it on the VE)

So when can we expect a radeon2? last I heard they said June/July, but I am not sure I want to wait that long...

Microns DDR is relatively cheap. You just have to wait a while longer for really really cheap DDR RAM.

I doubt it. I overclocked the sucker and it seems to run of gas at 200MHz. Past 200Mhz, it is like a straight line almost. It would be dumb for ATI to release a newer faster clocked card since it will hardly make any difference at all. If it cost about the same to them and the consumer, then maybe but I really doubt it.

i belive those win2k drivers already exist. I heard the newest beta brings performance to about 8-10% of win98 performance, not the 50% discrepancy it was several months ago.
