ATI Radeon question

I have a Radeon 9000 Pro and there is an option for fast write? What is this? Also when I enable it, it disables after it asks to reboot, does this mean it can't handle this feature?

Fast writes is pretty much useless. I would just disable it in BIOS and not worry about it.
