Hi,
I recently bought this card, mainly for HTPC purpose. My PC specs are Intel G645, Gigabyte H61m-S2P, 4GB RAM. The bios version is AMI 6/21/2012.

The issue is the card is not detecting when I insert it in the AGP slot. Should the bios be updated or should I do anything else for the card to be detected.

Thanks,
Bhuvan

That board does not have an AGP slot. If you have an AGP Radeon 5450, it won't work. Period.

I don't think anyone released an AGP version of the 5450, the newest AGP card is the 4650/4670

he probably just confused the naming, but is trying to use a PCIE card and PCIE slot (considering h61 is pcie)

normally you just plug the card and use it... make sure you connect the video cable on the VGA, and maybe select the PCIE slot on the bios as your first video adapter

Hi All,
Sorry. It is not AGP slot. It is PCI-E slot. Peter Nixeus, Should I install the drivers of the card at first point and then insert the card in PCI-E slot ?

Can you get the computer to boot up and see anything on the display, before windows even loads up?

I'd suggest your very initial quest will be to get the video card working in BIOS first. Perhaps start by resetting the motherboard, or if you can muddle through the manual, try to find the option to enable the on-board video. Perhaps it's a simple setting in your BIOS, and it's currently set to disable the discrete 5450 video card and only use the on-board integrated video?

Hi All,
Sorry. It is not AGP slot. It is PCI-E slot. Peter Nixeus, Should I install the drivers of the card at first point and then insert the card in PCI-E slot ?

Here's what I'd do then. Remove the 5450 PCIe. Power up the system and enter the BIOS. I'm not 100% sure where this option will be, but you're looking for something to set the 'default' GPU or start order, either integrated or PCIe. Make sure its set for PCIe, save and power off. Reinstall the card.

If you get no POST or display at all with the 5450 installed, you could well have a faulty card. Any other system to verify it in?
