I need to know how good exactly the ATI Radeon HD3650 256MB video card is. Is it better or worse than an Nvidia 8600 GT? And how does it compare to an 8800? Thanks a lot.

Slower than the 8800s, all models. Probably slower than the 8600GT as well, but solid reliable benchmarks are the mid range cards are few and far between.

Not a good choice for gaming. HD 3450 and HD 3650 are built for smooth HD playback and other desktop oriented GPU tasks. I think the primary difference between the two is that HD 3650 is better suited for dual monitors, while HD 3450 is sufficient for a single monitor.

Either way, those cards aren't meant for gaming and thus not in the same league of 8800's. 8600's might fare better in gaming but there isn't really a point to getting a 8600 at this point, IMO. You can have a 8800 GS under $100 if you're into gaming. Otherwise, a HD 3450 for ~$40 is an excellent deal.

As everyone points out it's all about what you want to use your PC for. Primary HTPC & light gaming with no AA & med-high settings @1280x1024 = 3650. Anything more demanding gaming wise & a 9600GT would probably be a better card.

Examples:
MSI R3650-MD512 OC Radeon HD 3650 512MB - $54.99 AR & with Free Witcher PC game:

PALiT NE/9600T+0152 GeForce 9600GT hdmi 512MB - $124.99 AR

If you want to mostly game but still hook up to a HDTV then get the 9600gt.
