Hi guys. I didn't even know where to put this, but since there I couldn't find ANYTHING about this online, I thought I'd share and maybe save some time to fellow human beings. (or maybe I'm the only guy that desn't know about this... but hey.. whatever...)
Here goes the my story:
Recently built a new computer with an ATI Radeon HD 4770, installed loads of crap and went back to playing one of my oldies (GTA San Andreas) to check out how much better it looked. It looks WAY better than it did on my old Radeon 9500 Pro with 64MBs.
But... I was having problems with the mouse... sometimes it would not respond correctly (clicking would stop working, or the tracking wouldn't work, etc.). This was ONLY on the game and it looked pretty random. If I paused and unpaused a few times it would suddenly start working.
I cursed the logitech drivers a few times and ended up uninstalling them, but that solved nothing. I thought it was the games fault and it was no biggy and left it at that.
Fast forward a few weeks and I'm setting up my foobar2k build and chronoflow (a coverflow style plugin for f2k) would not accept my left clicks (mouse wheel and right clicks worked). I ended up killing every process I could trying to debug this thing.
That's when it hit me... chronoflow + san andreas.... Maybe this is a display driver thing... maybe the application doesn't know where the mouse is to track the click location.
I was using Catalyst 9.5 so I went and looked for updates and sure enough 9.6 was out (today).
Installed Catalyst 9.6 (which was not uneventful but not too problematic) and BINGO... solved the issue!
I hope this helps someone to not waste several hours like I did.
