<< Does the ATi DVD player support Dolby Digital? I normally use PowerDVD, so how would they compare? I heard that the ATi player is the only player that makes use of the awesome capabilities of DVD playback on the Radeon card. Will one program work better than another? >>
as far as i know, the problem with spdif out has not been solved =(
i use powerdvd instead of the ati player, it works fine. but it is true that only ati's modified cinemaster player can make use of the idct. with a powerful enough computer and quality software, it does not matter.
ati's player is not as feature rich as powerdvd. powerdvd can do slow mo, and stepped fast fowarding which ati's player cannot. but ati's player provides a means to rewind, which powerdvd does not...
there is a 64MB aiw radeon, but i don't know much about it.
with respect to gaming, the 64MB vivo beats the aiw at default clock since the aiw is clocked lower and has less ram. but the aiw overclocks well, just like the 32MB radeon.
