I've got an ATI Radeon 9800 non pro 128mb video board that I recently bought and installed.

In device manager it shows as a 9800 Pro.

Is it possible that I got a 9800 Pro video board by accident?

How would I tell for sure?

Are there programs that would benchmark the video board and the results would be specific to a 9800pro or 9800non pro.

I recently installed a XTASY ATI 9600 Pro in another computer and it says 9600 Pro in device manager. However, that board did not have the power connection like the 9800 board did.

Your help and thoughts on this is greatly appreciated.

Download both 3dmark03 and 3dmark2001SE from http://www.futuremark.com/. These are benchmarks that test your card. You can compare them to other users.

If you want to know what card you have: Download radclocker. Install it, then open your ATI display settings. Go to the clock rate tab. If the clock rate is 380/340 or 380/680 its a pro.

Don't complain if it is.:D

But it can be; if you flash the BIOS to Pro BIOS, and your card takes it well
