Ati Radeon 9700 pro PROBLEM!!!!

I have an Ati Radeon 9700 pro built by ati. Here's the problem, when I am playing games like Lineage, CS: Source & NFS: Underground, at the beggining everything is perfect, video is impecable and fast...... after a couple a minutes playing any game the video corrupts (the screen goes black, and then its a color frenzy, i mean all u can see is like when a tv is snowed, but in multicolors), i don't know what to do. I've adjusted the power levels, power cables, everything.... i thought it might be a heating problem but i have 2 fans. I have the catalyst 5.3 version.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Agreed. See if you can get a Stock 9800 pro fan. No doubt the H/S Fan unit is not making good contact.

hmmm.....that vga silencer says it's for 9600 series, i don't think that would work with your 9700 as they were a different physical designed card than the 9600 series was.

If you pull the stock heatsink off make sure to pull the pins out of the pin bodys.
They have round heads.
The pins are 2 piece, they look like one piece glancing at them.

If you are aware of this please disregard.

I just took the HSF off of my 9700, put some AS2 on there, then replaced with fan with a thin, regular 80mm fan. It cooled my card *way* down and I can get some serious overclocks on it (just about 40% on the core).
