ATI Radeon 9700 Pro gaming problems

I just recently upgraded my mobo/cpu to an albatron kx-600pro(kt600 based) and a barton2600.

Everything works good except when I try to play any 3d games(simcity 4, wofenstein), the game kicks me back into desktop. Im pretty sure this is some kind of software issue since this card was just pulled from my old system.

installed:
winxp/ sp1, directx 9.0, via hyperion 4in1 4.51

I've tried ati catalyst 3.7,3.8 and 4.1, in 4x and 8x mode, fast write on and off, but all to no avail.

Any suggestions will be appreciated
 
What wattage and brand is your PSU? It might not be enough for your new CPU/MB combo.

I was having the same trouble only in 8X mode. An upgrade to a better PSU cured my problem.
