ATI radeon 9700 pro drivers

3.6 are buggy for me...
whenever i exit something that accesses the graphics card.... it would freeze for 2-5 seconds..
it would often freeze forever when I exit out of quake3....
Install the 3.5, all problems are gone..

I`ve never had that problem with Q3A or Q3TA,however I always use Driver Cleaner 1.9 when I remove my old drivers for newer ones,you could try that.
 
Ive found the 3.1, 3.5, 3.6 to be the best for me.
All the others have made C&C Generals stutter slightly during big action sequences.
 
I play Q3 and Q3 TA with 3.6's and no problems at all . I never used driver cleaner either. So luck of the draw.
 
Do I have to uninstall the driver first then update it? I am using a 9600 pro tho.

Yes best to remove it via Windows Control panel first,(ATi control panel ,then ATi drivers) after reboot you can install the drivers.

If you want the super clean method then you would use use driver Cleaner
here .
