ati radeon 9600(non-pro/xt) or geforce 4 ti 4600?

have a geforce 4 ti 4600, recently purchased a ati radeon 9600(non-pro) from best buys....which ones a keeper? seems to me theyre fairly similar...im getting mixed reviews, performance wise, at a gamers perspective, which is better? ive heard ati's color is more vivid...any suggestions?
 
hey I dont want to kill your thread but I dont want to write the same kind of thread so guys can you help me out too? I have a XFX Geforce4 440 with 64mb ram dvi/s-vid and I also got the BB Rad 9600....is that new card a worth while upgrade or should I return it and get something better...oh and I watch a ton of movies and play mostly counter strike...thanks!
 
A ti4600 will pretty much destroy a 9600 in dx8 games. And in dx9, I'm not sure that a 9600 will really be fast enough to even run in dx9 mode. If it was me I'd keep the ti4600.

mlk3454, if yours is a mx440 then I'd keep the 9600. The mx440's are fairly crippled and the 9600 should be a decent boost.
 
Id say go with the 4600. Should be better for just about everything. Though it is not dx9 but the 9600 non pro is too slow to run dx9 at a nice resolution anyway.
 
i actually just uninstalled my old card and drivers, installed the new with the ati drivers and noticed my JKII stopped lagging after i died, GOTHICII ran at a higher res...so i dno? i tried to find some comparisons on google but nothing with the 9600....i found a site that showed the 9500pro beat the 4600 by a long shot.....any other suggestions?
 
9500 pro is better than the 9600 due to having 8 rendering pipelines in the 9500pro vs. only 4 in the 9600.

9600 performs almost exactly on the same level as the GeForceFX 5600 Ultra.
 
is the 9600np the same thing as the 9600xt? im confused ... i just upgraded from a geforce3ti-200 to the bestbuy 9600 and its running pretty cool. can't wait to run dual monitors. 🙂
 
9600XT is much faster than 9600np.

4600Ti>>9600np
4600Ti=9600Pro (more or less)
4600Ti<9500Pro
9600XT>9600Pro
9600XT=9500Pro (more or less (for me 9500pro is better))

You answered your own question. Your games run faster on a 9600. THe 9600 should have better/faster AA/AF when compared to the 4600.
