Hi guys,

I just bought this marvelous video card...running on a ASUS A7V8X, Athlon XP 1700 and 512 MB PC-2700 Kingston...
I have a Samsung SyncMaster 755DF

When i first started the machine everything was fine, after a few minutes the screen started changing brightness and colors automatically...something that i fixed by increasing the refresh rate from 70 to 85hz...
Since I got it working though there's a very acute whistle...that is driving me nuts...
I already got the latest drivers for this monitor...

I don't know what else to think of...

any ideas???

Thanks

The monitor is whistling? Maybe that refresh rate is too high for it?

If you send me that 9500 I'll test it in my machine for you for a couple of months to make sure it's not the card :)

1280 x 1024
i started running it @ 60 hz and the colors changed too much, I increased to 75hz and still the colors were changing but less so I increased to 85 and the color problem was gone but the whistle is there since the very beginning and the whistle does not seem to come from the monitor I can't really tell exactly.

Whistling from the Fan on the Video card? check your fans, that would probably be the culprit.

Try running the refresh rate higher if you can. Some monitors make a high pitched noise at certain refresh rates.

Let me know if this helped

does the whistle go WOO WOO....?n/m

Hmm, I don't think a 755df can go that high at 1280x1024@ 85hz
The spec says 1280x1024 max should be 75hz.
This may not be the source of the problem, bu tI don't think "overclocking" your monitor is doing any good.
FYI, my 955df is running at 1024x768@85hz, may be you should run the same on your 755df.
Also make sure the vga cable is not damaged and no magnetic stuff around the monitor.
