ATI Radeon 9500 Pro or Geforce4 Ti4200?

Confuse

As some of you might know Best buy is offering the Radeon 9500 Pro for $150, but before this I was thinking of purchasing an Asus Geforce 4 Ti4200 for $135. I am looking to have this card run doom3/hl2 and last me for a while. But I am not quite sure how they compare, some of the benchmarks I've seen didn't seem to have much difference. Although there is the revised version which delivers improvements, but I don't know if its this one. Thanks!

9500 pro (as my friend lkes to say) "pwns" the G4ti4200

As for playing Doom3/Halflife2 they both will but I'd bet money that the 9500pro will be able play it at higher graphic levels

Any chance you have an ATi product vs a Nvidia product, get the ATi.

In many cases, you can overclock the 9500's to get right at or just a smidgen below 9700 pro speeds.

I am not bashing, in fact, I have a Nvidia in this machine currently. All and all though, my expierences have been better with ATi. As far as top of the line with unlimited budget, FX 5900 Ultra is said to have the edge on 9800 256. However, I am not going to spend 500 bucks on a video card.

Does anybody know how the FX 5900 non Ultra stacks up to the 9800's?
