Hi Guys,
I am very suprised with how these various threads on the ATI Radeon 9500 128mb Non-Pro to 9700 softhack/hardware hack do little to sum up what card brands are being used successfully and where they are being purchased. Providing such information would greatly help those who want to purchase a card for that very purpose but are confused by the huge threads that mention little in terms of specifics.

Users who have had success could help the others of this group greatly by posting:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
[1.] Where they have purchased the card? Direct Link to the card if possible would be appreciated, also date purchased.
[2.] Price of purchase? Current availability from the site?
[3.] Brand/Manufacturer of the board? (Sapphire/PowerColor..)
[4.] Model Number/Serial Number?
[5.] PCB color (red/black..etc)? L -haped 4 Ram Config or other?
[6.] What method of hacking used from the list below?
-A.RivaTuner (Softhack to 9700) Link
-B.Wizzard's Bios Softhack Link
-C.Warp11's bios hacks Link
-D.FireGl Z1/X1 Mod (newer "mod", unsure of its video card requirements) Link
-E.Hardware/Solder Mod Digit-Life Xbit Labs Link

[7.] [Optional] Best 3DMark Score after successful mod (note this will vary due to system spec differences also)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
If there is something I have left out that others find would also be important to know please post. I will update the thread as soon as I get some replies with the information above. Hopefully we can get a complete list up of brands/methods and more importantly where they were purchased, which will narrow down the "hackable" cards list.

Thanks in advance for the time taken by those who reply.

from what i've heard/seen @ rage3d.. there is no pattern. It seemingly random, and the method of hacking doesn't matter either..

People who get the exact same card, same markings etc.. one can have artifacts, the other will be clean.

1) There is no pattern. It's a complete hit or miss situation whether or not you get a fully working core or not.
2) Most people seem to have picked them up from Newegg.
3) Mostly Sapphire.
4) 9500 Non-Pro. Serial # doesn't matter.
5) PCB color doesn't matter. Has to be L-shaped for 9500NP to 9700 hack to work. I-shaped memory will yield a 9500 NP to 9500 Pro with hack.
6) Doesn't matter which hack you use. If the core has a bad pipeline, it has a bad pipeline. The method used to hack won't make any difference. Software hack is safer and doesn't void warranty.
7) You can look them up at Futuremark.

You can view a fairly complete compilation of my 9500 to 9700 info here.
