Alright... now I'm just pissed off. Reinstalled Windows 2000, installed a Radeon fresh, newest drivers from ATI, VIA 4 in 1's, etc etc. I'm still having texture issues in various games. Is it DirectX 9 that is causing this problem?

I am thinking I should reinstall 2000 and only install up to DirectX 8.1a. Thoughts?

Since the GeForce4-MX 4x0 is a DirectX 7 card and doesn't support DirectX 8 let alone DirectX 9 you may or may not experience problems with DirectX 9 installed. Go back to DirectX 8.:)

It might be the Motherboard (the Via Chipset). I have a Nforce2 mb with a rADEON 9500 Pro and I am running the catalyst 3 and dx9 and I have no problems with any game so far.

Notice he said ATI Radeon 9500...

Sorry, I should've clarified... the original thread made a reference to an earlier video card that I had, an eVGA Mx440.

I'm wondering if it could be that. I have an Epox 8k7a... only two years old, but it's an AGP 4x board... don't know if that would have any appreciable impact.
