I was looking for a good deal on a Radeon 8500 and I came across this in a VIVO flavor in a bulk pack. I was looking at the price and it's a damn good deal and it has a pic that looks like the 8500DV but supposedly it's not(no mention to the tv tuner). What are your takes on this? Good deal or not? I haven't dealt with the company before either. I looked at ATI's site and they mention that there is not a VIVO version cause they have the AIW 8500. I don't know what to think or expect.

The picture is an 8500dv, the description is a regular 8500, There are no 8500 VIVO's (yet) except AIW's. Who knows what you'd actually end up with? The price indicates an OEM 8500?

One of the third pary developers released a VIVO Radeon 8500LE, that may be the card mentioned....

If it's an 8500 VIVO, I wonder what it's clocked at?? 250/250 or 230/230? I'm sure that none of the 3rd party cards out "powered by ATI" are like their retail 275/275. It looks like it could be a scam cause that's the ATI AIW 8500DV pic that I saw from the website.

Have you seen a Link for one of those? The card mentioned has a tuner, clearly an AIW model.

only the picture and the title show any signs of a 8500dv,,

The discription shows nothing about video input or tv tuner, so it'll mostly be a OEM radeon8500 . with that price might as well get a new Retail radeon8500, you can get one for the same price or cheaper.. There is no Radeon8500 with just VIVO right not that's out for sale.

I called them and the CS agent said that the card does have DH, DVI and VIVO..Whether it is true or not is a different story..She also said it was made by ATI..I said so what is your return policy..She said 30 days and after that a 1 year warranty...IF it is true then that is not a bad price at all...

Anyone gonna risk it :D

I was really curious about a rating on them too and I couldnt' find one before cause I put a space in between. This is really weird, people either love them or hate them to deal with(ComputerGate).

I don't see how the thing could be real. ATI doesn't make an 8500 VIVO at all. Bamavoo, I'm sure the girl you talked to didn't even see the card in question. Hehe I just wanted to get a good deal on an 8500 with VIVO or if it happened to be an AIW 8500DV, then all the better. Good deals are usually not so hot though when you have to gamble ;)

I'm not going to take a chance, I'm getting my 8500 retail from newegg where the price is right and I know I'm getting what I'm ordering :D

I've bought from Computer Gate before without any problems. But it was only smallish stuff like cables & such.

That's great and all but the time that it comes out will probably be too late and it will cost way too much money.
I'm trying to save some money and still get a good card.. the Radeon 8500 is the best deal at the moment on a new card, but if I was going to pay more, I would spring for the GF4 TI4400. I'm just trying to get something that will last at least til next Winter or Spring.
