ATI Radeon 7500 runs WarCraft 3 choppy with 2K Server but not XP?

I used to play Warcraft 3 alot on my old computer that had the setup of Radeon 7500 card and WinXP. But now my brother has that old computer and he wanted 2K server for some odd reason. Now, when I try to run WC3 it always runs horribly, even on lowest settings. I have the newest drivers for everything too. Is there anything you can recommend to help fix this? Do I need the newest 4-in-1 drivers for 2k server as well?
 
Well, first of all Win2k is one OS behind XP, not that it matters. What does matter, though, is he's running 2k SERVER, which was never meant to be a gaming platform. There are a lot more processes, resources, and overhead that can possibly run with Server as opposed to a workstation. And it could also be set up to be optimized for background services rather than actual applications.
 
You're talking about Wink2K server edition and not the Windows 2000 professional, right? If it is the server edition, then like said earlier, there is a lot more overhead and ram usage since in server en viroments they will have a lot of RAM. If he wants Win2K for an odd reason, get him Wink2K Pro but I don't see why you'd choose that over XP.
