I recently built a new system.
Celeron 1000
asus tuv4x
100mhz bus
256mb kingston ram
40g maxtor hd
ati 7200 oem with 6.13.3276 xp drivers
17" philips 107s monitor and winXP home.
Well it ran fine for a day or so and then the monitor blacked out, but only at 1024x768 @ 85hz. It was a ah heck to find the problem, but after swapping monitors and testing the philips on my other rig I determined that it was some sort of video card driver incompadability or something with the phillips monitor. It was so weird becuase every thing was fine until I set the resolution at 1024x768 @85hz and then I got a black screen. It worked fine at all other resolutions and hz. I even hooked up my sony monitor which ran fine at that resolution and refreshrate. I uninstalled the drivers and the video card. Then rebooted and let windows install everything. Problem fixed. Worked at 1024x768 @ 85hz like a champ and is still going. What happened here? Was it the videocard, drivers, monitor, or windows xp. It stopped working the first time after I installed a few things, and I don't know if it messed something up or what. All I can say is it was weird. Anyone have an Idea?
