ATI Radeon 7000 good enough?

And maybe some dual display action with an older CRT..will text be crisp? And how's its stability? The main DVI output will be hooked up to a Samsung 910T monitor, which I've read looks much better on DVI.

7000 is good for home use,but has a nice clear image (on the monitor :) ) but only for office use :)

eh... back then Nvidia had better stuff. I would go with like a Geforce 2. However if you aren't playing games and are going to be doing office and stuff, go ahead and look for a matrox card, they have unmatched 2d quality.

Get a cheap Matrox card? If you only care about 2D, why waste your time with ATi/Nvidia?

edit: Heh! Gamingphreek's reply wasn't there when I loaded this thread. Two votes for Matrox.

My Dad uses a PCI 7000 with a 15 inch lcd and has no problems. It's a fine card, the 2D is arguably better then the GF2 series but I couldn't tell a difference.
