ATI Radeon 64 VIVO (video In)

KK

Lifer
I formatted my computer the other night to install a raid setup. Well, when I went back and installed the drivers for this card, it won't allow me to do video in. It says when I try the video in program of ATI's, "The TV Player failed to initialize the video. Ensure the correct video drivers have been installed and close any applications which may be playing video such as DVD or WebTV before attempting to restart TV." This kinda makes me want to throw the POS away. I had it working fine before the reformat, thats what so damn frustrating. The only thing I did diffently was that I downloaded some new drivers from the web and installed them first. where as before I used the CD that came with them and then I upgraded the drivers. Any ideas on where to start?

Thanks,
KK

I agree after I formatted it was suck a fvcking hassle I was pissed. ATI's drivers and that damn multimedia center sucks.

Try this:

Uninstall your current drivers. Might want to uninstall MMC too. You should do a clean install, thread on it here.

I'm running the 7078 beta drivers fine but there is the 7089's out so you might want to get those since they are the newest. I just haven't had any problems with these so I didn't take the time to upgrade.

After drivers installed, install Directx 8.0a.

Install multimedia center. Or you might just be able to goto Repair (at uninstall screen) instead.

That's how I did it and it now finally works good.

I had to install WebTV and then it worked fine for me...before I just installed the 7073 drivers and that worked, but WebTV should probably fix it.
