ati radeon 5450 displayport not working (3rd display)??

Hello,

I currently have the ATI Radeon 5450 hooked up running on Windows 8 64 bit.

I have 3 monitors hooked up (all 3 ports in the back), but the displayport to HDMI is not recognizing my 3rd monitor.

Do I need new drivers/etc? Please advise, thanks!

Dane

Pretty sure the 5450 only supports two displays at once.

To verify your adapter, if you disconnect one of the other displays, does it then work?

EDIT: Quick search shows some 5450's do, some do not.

Yep some support 3 but I think most only did 2.

Could be you need to get a active display port adapter to support 3 monitors?

The 5450 chip can support 3 monitors; it just has to be built to support it. Your card is a basic one that will only do 2.

This is the card you want: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814129261

And if its the post I am thinking of, I think I responded pointing out the visiontek card. This card supports eyefinity. The key is the display port. The ones with no display port are dual head only.

EDIT: Just looked and I did not respond to that post. Was thinking of another one with the same issue.

Ah good point, you can blame Newegg for incorrectly advertising eyefinity support, when the card lacks the physical ports that would have enabled it. Unless they are technically correct for advertising eyefinityx2 and not eyefinityx3?

Furthermore, PowerColor also offers exclusive Go! Green HD5450 solution that supports Eyefinity technology, enables multi-display capabilities and expands your visual world up to 3 displays through a single card. You will be able to watch more and get more done at the same time.

So this is incorrect (above)?

It is incorrect for that model card yes. No card that has VGA/DVI/HDMI will drive three displays. The HDMI and DVI share outputs.

The one I linked above which has two DVI and MiniDP is the one that you should exchange your card for.
