Ati Radeon 4650 low fps Help please

My card used to run crossfire [the game] At around 150fps in a full room with 16 people, now it stuggles with 40fps in a full room. I have reformatted it and still same fps. Tryed alot of different drivers and its the same.



And here are my system specs

AMD Phenom 8400 Triple core
3GB ddr2 Ram
Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit

Hmm I'd say make sure the CPU is running at it's full speed when you're playing the game and that it's not throttling down to like 800 mhz.

download a benchmark like 3dMark or something and run on your computer to compare it with other scores for the same video card. it could give you an indication if something isn't working as fast as it should.

maybe its your internet? like someone else said check another game or benchmark.. maybe card is overheating? cpu overheating? something is throttling down?

Well the CPU could be throttling down if it's overheating, or cool n quiet could be kicking in when it shouldn't.

Have you checked the settings in the BIOS to make sure they are all correct? Is the date correct in the BIOS? If the battery died on the board it might have reset to defaults (grasping at straws here).

CPU-Z will show your CPU speed...launch the game and then switch to the desktop and see. GPU-Z will show your graphics speeds and temps, and you can have it record them so you can run the game and then flip to it and see if it was up to speed during the game. Coretemp will get your CPU temp for you so you can verify it isn't overheating.

Do you move the PC a lot? Maybe the heatsink for the cpu got loose and the processor is constantly throttling back?
