I am a disatisfied owner of a geforce 2mx card and I'm thinking to buy a Radeon 32MB DDR. Does it worth? Is it better than Geforce256 DDR chipset? Any advice would be very helpful.
NOTE: DONT TELL ME ABOUT RADEON LE. I DONT WANT IT SINCE ITS WORST THAT RADEON 32MB DDR AND THE MONEY ISN'T BIG TROUBLE(ALTROUGH I cANT AFFORD TO BUY THE 64MB VERSION).

i have the card you are talking about and switched from a asus geforce DDR to this card. you will like the improved image quality but if you are a frame per second nut you will be better off staying witht he geforce. the radeon is a little slower but nothing major.

well if you want both get the radeon and overclock it like i did. the default speed on the radeon is 166 i have it at 183 right now with no trouble at all. it benches out at about the same 3dmark2000 score as my geforce did when it is overclocked.

Money IS a problem, the Radeon64 DDR is not much more than a Radeon 32 DDR, If you can't afford the Radeon64 DDR, you realy need to research a little better, repeat after me "The Radeon 32DDR Le is the best low cost 3D gaming card period" LOL, really though a registry tweak to enable hyper-z and a little overclocking puts the Le performance on par with the retail 32DDR for almost half the price...your choice.

The LE will perform withing a couple fps of a 32 DDR when tweaked. Another thing: When the LE first came out, it was 1/2 the price of a 32 DDR. This is no longer true. I was in Curcuit City this weekend and saw retail 32 DDRs for $99 after rebate. The 64 DDR was $179 after rebate. The 64 DDR is really nice if you can swing it. If not, and you are uncomfortable with the LE, you can find a good deal on the normal 32 DDR.

The Radeon LE is available for $79 shipped from newegg.com. Hack the registry and o/c it, and you have a card that is almost as fast as a GeForce2 and significantly faster than a GeForce 256.

Then again, the prices on the GeForce line of cards is falling. A Geforce2 is less than $150. The KyroII card will be coming out soon (this month I believe) and it will cost around the same price point.

All in all, it is a great time to buy CPUs, memory, and video cards.

Yeah, you have to be careful. This stuff changes fast. I'm not so sure the LE is quite the "hot deal" its was a short time ago.

I just called Circuit City and asked about the Radeon 32 DDR for $129-$30 rebate for $99 and he said it's the VE. Isn't that the one that's slower than the LE?

Yeah the VE is crap, it's only good for dual-head.

Well the LE is only a little cheaper than the Retail 32ddr but like others said, all you do is enable hyper-z via the registry and overclock it to Retail speeds and wow you basically have a Radeon 32ddr retail.

I could swear the one I saw was a retail DDR 32. It was $99 after rebate. They had the VE for $99 with no rebate. Who knows, I could be wrong (it wouldn't be the first time).
